POKOTABI / Bodegon-tei
ぼでごん亭
Located in Shinjuku 2-chome, Bodegon-tei is an izakaya serving comforting Western-style Yoshoku fare—such as house-made beef stew, Neapolitan pasta, and gratins—alongside a wide selection of drinks.
01 / ABOUT THE PLACE
Set on the 1rd floor of the Koshuya Building in Shinjuku 2-chome, Bodegon-tei offers a calm atmosphere reminiscent of a classic kissaten or retro Western-style salon, where diners can enjoy drinks alongside carefully prepared Yoshoku dishes. The menu features comforting staples such as house-made beef stew, special spare ribs, piping-hot macaroni gratin, and nostalgic ketchup-glazed Neapolitan pasta.
For nights when a hearty meal is in order, satisfying mains include beef cutlet, garlic steak, and a signature demi-glace stew omurice curry. Diners will also find an extensive array of smaller plates to accompany drinks, such as house-made pickles, house-made okaki rice crackers, and house-made potato mochi. The beverage list provides plenty of options as well, spanning draft Asahi Super Dry, Heartland, Guinness, Suntory Kakubin highballs, cocktails like gin and tonics and mojitos, and even an adult cream soda.
Inside, a counter invites solo drop-ins, while tables accommodate groups. Smoking is permitted throughout all seats, making it convenient for smokers, and the late-night hours add to its everyday versatility. It serves equally well for an easy dinner with good company or an unhurried round of drinks paired with small plates.
